Pneumatic Massage – Lymphatic Drainage
Pneumatic massage is a lymphatic drainage treatment performed with compressed air. It is a treatment procedure carried out using a special cuff that is filled with compressed air. The cuff, put on the arms and/or legs alternately exerts pressure on the lower or upper limbs. The pressure in the cuff chambers is appropriately selected, and the sequence of compressions depends on the selected program. Massage is a relaxing, painless procedure that brings quick and visible results.
Pneumatic massage is recommended by doctors and physiotherapists in the case of:
- Venous insufficiency
- Peripheral arterial disease
- Chronic edema
- Osteoarthritis
- Cyanosis of the extremities
- Reynaud’s syndrome
- Diabetic angiopathy
- Gout
- Carpal tunnel syndrome
- Polyarthritis
- Prevention of varicose veins
- Neuropathies
- Neuralgias
Pneumatic massage also proves beneficial for issues such as obesity, cellulite, heavy legs syndrome, post-liposuction treatment, post-injury and post-surgical recovery, or for improving skin appearance in individuals with sedentary lifestyles or lack of physical activity leading to lower limb edema. It works well for people who have a standing job or do not take up physical activity and therefore have problems with swelling of the lower limbs.
